The Man Repellers

ZARA shirt
ASDA gilet
RI shorts & watch
TOPSHOP sandals
NATIVE WOLF necklace*

Yes, yes, it's happened. I have fallen victim to the "ugly sandal", "Birkenstock", "pool slider" trend - or whatever else you want to call it. At first my opinions on this particularly controversial trend were firmly on the opposite side of the fence, but (mostly due to following so many gorgeous fashion bloggers) the inevitable has happened and I have finally succumbed to the stylishly unstylish footwear.

The sandals teamed with a simple pair of black denim shorts, a crisp white shirt and my old favourite leather gilet create the perfect casual summer's day outfit. But, the faux-Birks would look just as chic with a pair of skinny jeans, or maybe even my new pinstripe trews on a cooler day.

For once I am actually embracing flat shoes, and for now have shunned my strappy heeled sandals to the wardrobe in favour of their much more comfortable counterpart. Now all that's left is to convince our boyfriends to be seen out in public with us again.

But yeah, my boyfriend's the same, he hates 90% of my shoe collection!

  8. recently I bought my nanna a pair of sandal's shoes and I liked them that much I bought myself a pair the most comfortable things I have ever worn.
I went walking with my friends and they all laughed at me calling them "old woman shoes" After the walk when we got back I said to them all " they might be old woman shoes but I am the only one who don't have blisters." Round one for old lady sandel's

  9. Hahaha, I love these sandals, especially how you styled them, you look so lovely Sarah. Unfortunately our boyfriends have to live through every passing trend we bloggers try out!

  10. This may be the first time I actually think they look right. Would still never buy them, I have plenty of comfortable flat sandals that actually look nice with things :) (although I have been realising that might be because I'm fine with having blisters when I first start using a pair of shoes, I know after that the skin toughens up and it doesn't happen again)

  11. I think this is a cool trend but one I won't be rocking haha. My feet are too flat anyway so it wouldn't work!

  12. Nice look, those legs gurl!!! Wow!! xx

  13. Love this post... I too am currently firmly on the fence re the whole slider sandal issue but I think you might have convinced me. This outfit is fab!
